Strengthening Sisterhood, Creating Lasting Impact
As part of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated® “We Are One” Service Day, MAO created a display at First Baptist Ministries in Midland, highlighting African American literature and Black authors. The collection celebrated Black history, culture, resilience, leadership, and achievement while promoting education, representation, and cultural awareness.

Alpha Kappa Alpha’s Childhood Hunger Initiative Power Pack (AKA CHIPP) Program. MAO addresses childhood hunger by providing "Power Packs" for children in the tri-cities to eat over the weekend and holidays.
MAO put on a free community event at Midland Center for the Arts where we honored and celebrated the Harlem Renaissance. We marked the 100th anniversary by putting on a 1920s Harlem speakeasy with poetry and readings from authors of the day and live jazz music.
